# Affiliate Disclosure

Wau Books uses two commercial models: affiliate commission links to selected retailers and direct sales of Waubooks Originals. This page explains the difference and how both models relate to our editorial choices.

## In short

Some links on this site take you to online retailers like Shopee, Lazada, Kinokuniya, or Amazon. If you make a purchase through one of these links, we may earn a small commission. This does not affect the price you pay. Some titles are Waubooks Originals and are sold directly through this site.

Waubooks Originals are sold directly by us — no retailer, no commission, just a direct purchase.

Whether or not a book has an affiliate link has no influence on whether we recommend it.

## How affiliate links work

When you click a "Buy on [Retailer]" link on Wau Books, you are taken to the retailer's website. If you purchase the book within a qualifying window, the retailer pays us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same — the commission comes from the retailer's margin, not a surcharge to you.

- →**Amazon Associates** (amazon.com, amazon.co.uk) — Used primarily for imported English-language titles not available through Malaysian retailers.

## Waubooks Originals — sold directly

Some books on this site are Waubooks Originals — titles published by Waubooks and sold directly through our store. These titles are marked clearly with a Waubooks Original badge so they can be distinguished from affiliate-linked books.

When you purchase a Waubooks Original, you are paying Waubooks directly. No affiliate commission is involved, no retailer sits in the middle, and payment is processed securely by Stripe through a hosted checkout page.

## Editorial independence

Every book on this site is recommended because we believe it deserves attention — not because of an affiliate relationship or because we publish it. If a title has no affiliate link, we still feature it. If a title has one, we disclose it. Our editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial relationship.
