## Why I built this
In the vast chaos of modern marketplaces, discovery has become a chore. For Malaysian parents, finding high-quality children’s literature often means scrolling through thousands of low-quality reprints or generic imports that don’t quite capture the nuances of our multilingual and multicultural life.
I realized that what we lacked wasn’t access to books — it was a trusted filter. A place where every title has been vetted for its heart, its craft, and its relevance to a child growing up in our beautiful, complex region.
Wau Books was born from a desire to move away from the ‘grid of boxes’ approach to e-commerce. Here, we slow down. We look at the metadata that actually matters to families: language complexity, cultural sensitivity, and the enduring quality of the physical object itself.
